The year 2018 is about to get quite interesting for Ace Comedian, David Ogechukwu popularly known as ‘Elder O’, as he excitedly reveals his plans for the year and in addition released his first 2018 photos.
The Rib cracker also referred to as The Red Cap Comedian is all geared up to take his career to the next level as the New Year gradually unfolds.

How was the year 2017?
The year 2017 was very eventful for me and my team and we recorded huge success in all our events and God gave us more clients than we had the previous years.I hosted the 2nd edition of my annual comedy show COMIC RELIEF with Elder O and friends and it was the talk of the town.
So, what are your plans for 2018?
My plans this year 2018 is to expand the brand and try to reach out more internationally. Then, I’ll add one or two upcoming comedian into my crew and see how we can help them to grow too as the brand gets stronger. I strongly believe that God’s grace the name ‘Elder O’ will become a formidable name in the industry this year. We’ve set goals and made plans to surpass our achievements last year and with the right people and team around, the goals will be achievable because we won’t be leaving any stone unturned. Na hustle from all corners because the hustle is real.
Can you share your best moment as a comedian?
I’ve had several moments that I cherish so much as a comedian but I know I have one or two that are so special. Like when I hosted my first big show and the very 1st edition of COMIC RELIEF with Elder O in 2016. I actually heaved a sigh of relief after that show because I never expected the heavy crowd we had that day. Knowing fully well that Surulere, Lagos have been abandoned for years when you talk about comedy shows because comedians always feel that mainland will not want to buy tickets to come for shows. But God used us to prove them wrong and now almost all my friends want to host shows on Surulere soil too. So, coming into the hall on December 4th 2016 to see that mammoth crowd was my best moment so far.
What inspires you?
I get my inspiration from my environment, God and people around me. You can’t move around the city of Lagos and come back to tell me you don’t get inspired to do whatever you set out to do. When you think you have seen it all, that’s when you will go out and behold another fresh inspiration that you never thought could come your way. Lagos is a very big school that no one can graduate even in ones lifetime.
