Isabella become popular after she emerged the Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria at the 2012 edition. She proceeded to being Nigeria’s delegate to the 2012 Miss Universe which held on 19 December at The AXIS, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
She was born 28 November 1986 into a polygamous family of 24 children and studied Business administration at the University of Calabar. Before emerging winner in the 2012 MBGN, she competed in the 2009 and 2010 editions, as well as Miss Nigeria 2004, Miss South South 2007, and Miss Global Nigeria 2009.
In May 2012, the beauty queen almost got dethroned after it was alleged that she falsified her age to compete in the event. She was said to be around thirty at the time. However, the organizers of the event, Silverbird Group came to her defense and dispelled rumors of her getting dethroned. The scandal has been the biggest since 2001 when Valerie Peterside was dethroned due to similar reasons.
She currently runs a foundation named after her which has seen her lend support to people in need. One of those is a widow, Rose Leku Asigbe, who was thrown out by her rival wives after her husband died. Isabella ensured that the woman and her 6 children were catered for.
This news of her at a UN assembly is a huge plus for her and is most likely going to help further the course of her foundation.
