Robyn Rihanna Fenty has said goodbye to her twenties as she shared a picture of her childhood alongside a touching message of appreciation to her mother, Monica Fenty. In celebration of her 30th birthday, the talented singer took to Instagram where she wrote:
“10958 days ago @monica_fenty became a mother for the first time to her only daughter! Today is just as much your birthday as it is mine!”
I love you mom! Thank you for carrying me, birthing me, raising me, supporting me, teaching me, and loving me unconditionally! The woman I am today is because of everything that you are! I thank God for perfectly hand picking you to be my mother when He sent my spirit to you! You are the greatest! Thank you! #”.
In response to the amazing letter, her mum Monica wrote:
“Happy 30th. God’s blessings to my 1st born. The sweetest , most humble person I know , and most loving daughter ever. Lots of love back to you on your special day.”
The post from the Barbados singer has gotten over 2.6 million likes and more than 85 thousand comments all wishing her a happy birthday. She also got birthday wishes from celebrity friends like Ciara, Bruno Mars, Bryson Tiller and Dj Khalid whom she has a hit song with titled ‘wild thoughts’. Surprisingly, she also got a shout out from her one time lover, 28 year old Chris Brown who shared a childhood picture of the singer with a short birthday message.
Riri, as she’s fondly called, was born February 20, 1988 in Saint Michael, Barbados. She has nine Grammy Awards, twelve American Music Awards and twelve Billboard Music Awards to her name.
