Nigerian singer, actor and politician, Banky W has finally sold his 2008 Range Rover SUV through an auction that held yesterday in Lagos.
Banky had through an open letter, revealed he would be auctioning the vehicle off and donate the proceeds to charity.
The letter he shared on Instagram read:
”This Range Rover has been so good to my Madam and I, but this Saturday Nov 24th we are auctioning it to raise money for The School for the Blind, and for @pinkoaktrust… If you’re looking for a used Car, buy this piece of Nigerian Pop Culture history instead. It has been in more videos and movies than any other option out there lol. It was also the subject of a stalker video some months ago. Point being, it’s famous, and these charities need our help. This is coming after two ladies filmed and trolled the singer online for using an old model Range Rover after they spotted EME boss and his wife, Adesua Etomi, leaving a grocery store.
Both ladies called out the celebrity couple for living a ‘fake life’ but couldn’t afford a befitting car for their celebrity status.
The sale of the controversial car finally held and Head of Sony Music West Africa, Mr Michael Ugwu, won the bid to purchase the historic vehicle.
Specifications of the 4-wheel drive include Cruise Control, Rear Parking Aid, Universal Garage Door Opener, Keyless Entry, Heated Mirrors, 8 Cylinder Engine, Airbags, and Safety Features.
