In an attempt to gain spiritual sight which would allow him to see lucky numbers and win lottery games, one Emmanuel Okachi has reportedly lost his sight.
The New Agency Of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 27-year-old man who hails from Delta State, travelled to Ishiagu village, near Ogwashi-Uku, to see a native doctor.
While speaking with NAN on Sunday, January 20, 2019, one Osita Usoka who is a friend of the victim, revealed that the sad occurrence took place on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
Uzoka said, “He went to see a juju man to help him acquire spiritual sight so that he can be wining lotto games, popularly known as ‘Baba Ijebu.’
“He once told me that he was worried that he has been playing lotto games without success,” Uzoka said.
According to Usoka, the witch doctor reportedly prepared concoctions for Emmanuel to drink and rub on his eyes, after assuring him of getting spiritual eyesight.
“He never told anyone what he did, but when he started feeling some discomfort in his left eye, he cried out.
“I heard about it from one of our friends so I went to see him, that was when he told me what transpired.
“He was taken to the hospital following a swollen eye, but no solution. Right now, he has lost his left eye,” Uzoka said.
One of the victim’s elder brothers, Justin Okachi, expressed his family’s devastation over the development.
“We don’t want to say anything about it. We are really shocked by Emma’s desperation.
“For now, we want to forget about the whole incident. He has his life to live,” Uche said.
NAN also reports that the witch doctor whose name is yet to be discovered, is now on the run.
