Actress Damilola Adegbite, the ex-wife of Ghanaian actor, Chris Attoh speaks on some of the challenges she is facing a public figure, how she dealt with death of her ex husband’s wife, Jennifer Betty.
Asked if she reached out to Chris Attoh over the loss of his new wife, Jennifer Bettie, Adegbite who has a son for Attoh before their union packed up she said, ‘Why not? He’s my son’s father, so I just had to. I don’t have a choice. I believe that whatever happened between us was destined to be that way.
On this particular issue, someone’s life was involved, so, its very sensitive. No matter what happened between us, it is not good to wish someone death. Chris was part of my life, so why won’t I reach out to him?”, she told BBC Pidgin.Wondering if Ms Adegbite is ready to love again? She said she wants to wait and rest small. “Let that love wait (Laughs). Life at 34, it is so sweet. As I get older, I’m becoming fresher and aging backwards.I pity anybody that wants to pay my dowry and marry me now. You would have to sweat it out. But surly enjoy it all,” she gushed.Adegbite also lamented on the challenges of life as an public figure: “Sometime ago, I googled myself and the outcome wasn’t so pleasant. I wasn’t able to read what popped up. The first post made me lose interest in reading further. I quickly moved away from there. Again, I stopped granting press interviews because I’m tired of journalists misquoting me to gain cheap attention or to be rewarded in their respective offices,” she said.On the advice that she’s tired of hearing from people, the ex-tinsel starlet revealed that her marriage and relationship should be left to her alone to handle.”These people won’t let me rest. I was advised to settle down, I tired it, I didn’t work out. I had thought that after my failed marriage people would let me be. But I goofed. They are still on this marriage case. Everyone should learn to mind their business, there are other things going on around the world at the moment.”
