The Police Command in the FCT, Abuja has detained Senator Elisha Abbo after he assaulted a nursing mother at an adult toy shop.
Mr Bala Ciroma who is the FCT Police Commissioner in a telephone interview confirmed the reports to Channels Television that the Senator is being detained so as to enable detectives to complete their investigation on the alleged assault.
Days ago, Abbo who is the youngest senator and currently represents Adamawa North Senatorial District was spotted in an adult toy shop located in Wuse area of Abuja in a video exclusively released on Monday by Premium Times.
He was however caught on CCTV hitting a woman continually after she just pleaded with him to be lenient and not to physically assault the shop owner identified as Kemi whom he accused of insulting him.
The viral video immediately sparked outrage with many Nigerians who are calling for Elisha Abbo’s prosecution and urging the Senate to also discipline him.
