It’s no longer news that Nollywood actress Toyin Adewale has left the shores of Nigeria.
The buxom actress, who is the mother of music act, Mayowa Adewale aka Mayorkun, now resides in Maryland, USA with her daughter.
Toyin, who was also a caterer while in Nigeria before her sojourn abroad, was a regular feature in most Nollywood Yoruba movies and her pretty face stood out.
Known as Mama Mayor among her colleagues in Nigeria, her son is one of the A-list artistes on Davido’s DMW recording label. He is famous for his hit tracks, “Eleko” and “Mama”.
Her son, who has now carved a niche for himself in the entertainment industry, came to limelight in 2016 after he was signed on by superstar singer, Davido to the Davido Music Worldwide record label.
Well, Toyin must have left for greener pastures abroad and decided not returning to Nigeria.
Now living large in the US, Toyin, who clocked 50 years old in June 2019, marked it with friends and well-wishers
Amidst pomp and pageantry. Though many wondered why her husband, Sunday Adewale was absent, it was assumed Mayorkun’s father could have returned to Nigeria where he works as a movie producer.
Mayorkun’s dad was sighted with his son in 2018 when he put up a surprise appearance at his son’s show in Dallas in 2018. Mayorkun was quick to reveal in a post on social media that it was the first time they were seeing in two years.
Well, it’s a new life for Toyin Adewale and her 12-year-old daughter in the US. She parties with friends and makes sure she posts photos of her good looks on Instagram.
She doesn’t forget to post her son’s photos too and wishes him well on any endeavors.
A mum of three, Toyin Adewale revealed in an interview that she met a husband 30 years ago at a vocational school in Lagos.
The couple has been married for 26 years and renewed their marriage vows six years ago.
Asked why he has not bothered to stop his wife from acting, Sunday replied he would never do that since that was her passion.
He said, “Men who do that are not real. They do not have the interest of their wives at heart. If they do, they will even allow their children to join the industry. It is not a new thing. Some men object to it because of one or two atrocities they might have committed with women—they fear their past haunting them. In addition, if a man understands the industry, he will not even worry about men admiring his wife. If you do not want anybody to admire your wife, go and marry an ugly woman. Even ugly women have admirers. What is required is a deep sense of understanding. A woman should know that she is in the profession to make money and not to meet men.”
