Bill and Melinda Gates have confirmed they are going their separate ways after 27 years of marriage.
The couple have built a $127billion fortune.
But today, 65-year-old Bill shocked the world with a tweet.
The Microsoft founder said after a great deal of thought and a lot of work, “we have made the decision to end our marriage”.
“We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue to work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.
“We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life”, the statement said.
The couple have three kids; Jennifer, 25, Rory, 21, and Phoebe, 18.
