Reno Omokri a Nigerian human right activist and lawyer, has called out President Buhari and Osinbajo for not attending the funeral of the Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru
Reno Omokri took to his Twitter handle to express his disappointment as the Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and officers who perished in a military crash on Friday, May 21 were buried in Abuja without the presence of the President or his vice.
The Defence Headquarters has said that the plane crash which killed the Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 other military personnel occurred after the aircraft landed at Kaduna airport due to bad weather.
However, Reno believes if President Buhari could fly to Paris to attend a function, he should have made it to the funeral of the military officers who lost their lives during service.

“Sad that General @MBuhari did not attend the burial of the late Chief of Army Staff, General Attahiru. He was represented by his Defence Minister. Attahiru died serving Nigeria. Buhari, who went to Paris for 4 days, could not go to Attahiru’s funeral for 30 minutes”
.@MBuhari called General Attahiru a “hero”, but he did not attend his funeral just 15 miles from Aso Rock. Yet, he travelled 4000 miles to Paris. Even @ProfOsinbajo did not attend, yet he traveled 2500 miles to Kampala. Why will anyone then want to die for Nigeria?”

Yet @MBuhari, who flew 4000 miles to France, could not drive 15 miles to attend Attahiru’s funeral?General died in service for Nigeria, and our President and Governors did not attend his funeral in Abuja. But our Governors were able to attend the wedding of the son of the Attorney General of Nigeria today. What is the benefit of fighting and dying for Nigeria?”
“Seeing as General Attahiru and his colleagues died in service of Nigeria, General @MBuhari ought to have declared at least 3 days of national mourning, with flags flying at half mast. It is very sad to see 5 Governors and multiple ministers partying in Kano today.”
