Sensational Nigerian singer Simi has thrown a shade at Africa parents over their style of parenting.
Simi Ogunleye, months after she welcomed her baby Adejare, continued to dish out advice ranging from pregnancy, motherhood, and parenting.
In a post shared on her Instagram story, Simi opined that many African parents realised that parenting should not be as deep and strick as they had done in the past.
She wrote: Lots of our parents have come to find out it really wasn’t about that deep. And they should have chilled. Bruh.
KemiFilani News recalls that Simi Ogunleye recently revealed why many people always think boys are easier to raise than females.
In a post shared on her Instagram story, the singer said many parents of the past generation raise their girls and let the boys raise themselves, hence why they think it’s easier to raise male children.
Simi said if a boy makes mistakes in life, society will refer to the popular cliche that ‘Boy will be Boys’. However, if a girl child makes such a mistake, society will tag the girl child as wayward, so parents put more effort into raising girls.
According to the singer, the girl child is taught to be a good wife, good mother, prudent, enduring, faithful and whatever the society’s version of perfect is but the male child is taught to make money and provide.
Simi added that she is happy about the current generation as the tide seems to be changing and more women realise they are more than what society expects.
