Wizkid and Justin Bieber have collaborated on Essence Remix along with Tems.
When the former EME prodigy teased his fans that a big surprise was in the works, nobody saw this coming.
Essence was already blowing up charts around the world and it was expected that Wizkid would drop an entirely new song or tour dates.
However, the Nigerian superstar announced a surprise remix to song, which is set to hit streaming services tonight.
“Thank u for letting me jump on the song of the summer. Essence remix out tonight,” tweeted Bieber.
“Essence,” which is No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100, appears on Wizkid’s album Made in Lagos.
The project, released last October, features appearances from Ella Mai, H.E.R., Damian Marley, and Burna Boy.
Bieber currently has the No. 1 song in the US with “Stay,” his collaboration with The Kid LAROI.
Next up for Wizkid is his “Made in Lagos” tour.
The 17-date trek kicks off September 10 in Boston and hits major cities including Brooklyn, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Miami through October before closing out with a pair of Canadian dates in Toronto and Montreal in January.
