Nollywood Yoruba actress, Tosin Abiola, popularly known as Omo Brish has taken to social media to pen down a touching tribute to her mom for her constant affection and unwavering support towards her.
Taking to her Instagram, she shared her mother’s picture describing her as a hardcore disciplinarian. Recounting the pasts, she revealed her mum made them tough for the society as she was always ready to take a child to the barracks to be disciplined, there was nothing like promotion for someone that almost came last in class and if you are younger than someone with two years, you are forced to use the title ‘aunty’ or ‘uncle’.
Despite being hard, she will always support her children in whatever field they choose to venture into.
All through those years, she was closer to her dad than her mum, but started cherishing the value of her love when she also started giving birth to children.
In her words;
While growing up, if you ever met my mum, you’d know that she was (and still is) a disciplinarian to the core. Ha, mama Wale will dIscipline anybody, as in anybody…. She will take grown boys to the barracks to be disciplined, just to straighten them. You will repeat a class should you go below average, there was nothing like house help or maid, y’all are the same in her house. If someone is two years older, you must attach aunty or brother to their names…. A lot more…
But behind that hardcore, is a soul that will never let anyone suffer. My mum would take anyone in and support them in whatever field. She will show you how to give, the necessaries and bless you with whatever the Lord puts in her mind.
However, I was closer to my dad until I started to have children. I thought my mum was just too strict and didn’t give myself the chance to see through. For the last couple of years, we’ve been inseparable. I dare not go to bed without hearing her voice, in her I see not only my birth mother but a lover of Christ.
Recently, when everything seemed gloomy…. I saw her and few others but her constant affection and unwavering support were all I needed to pull through.
