Ahead of the Ekiti state 2022 Governorship election, the opposition party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party, has recently elected Chief Bisi Kolawole as the party’s flag bearer.
Bisi Kolawole, who happens to be the favourite of former Ekiti state governor Ayodele Fayose defeated the likes of former governor Segun Oni and the likes of Professor Kolapo Olusola, Yinka Akerele, Deji Ogunsakin, Lateef Ajijola, Wale Aribisala, Ayodeji Kazeem and Kayode Adaramodu in the PDP primaries.
Popular Nigerian lawmaker Senator Biodun Olujimi was the only candidate who withdrew from the election while alleging irregularities.
The aftermath of the election, which took place on Wednesday, was the Chairman, Electoral Committee of the PDP, Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State, declared Chief Bisi Kolawole as the party’s flag bearer.

Bisi Kolawole was born on 20th September, 1956 in Ile Ife to Chief Ezekiel Kolawole of the Meyolanu Dynasty in Efon Alaaye, Ekiti state and Mrs Alice Mojirola Kolawole a native of Modakeke.

In politics, Bisi Kolawole is a prominent politician in Ekiti state and has served as a former House of Assembly member between 2007 and 2011; he was the Commissioner for Environment under the administration of former Governor Ayodele Fayose between 2015 and 2018.
