Joan Celia Lieber was born in April 1950 to Stan Lee and Joan Boocock Lee in New York City in the US. She was the first and surviving child of her parent. Joan had a young sister named Jan Lee, but she died three days after her birth.
Stan Lee, Joan Celia’s father, was a writer and artist while her mother was a voice over artist; this means she grew up in an environment that had to do with entertainment and creativity, which was part of what made her become an actress.
Joan’s mother passed on in 2017 after battling with stroke, while her father died in November 2018 from cardiac arrest brought on by respiratory and congestive heart failure.
