Joeboy was born Joseph Akinfenwa Donus. He is a fast rising Nigerian musician, singer, song writer and a recording artist.
His genre of music is that of Afro pop and R&B.
He was born on 21st May 1997 in Lagos State, Nigeria. After completing his primary and secondary school education, Joeboy went to the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management.
He is currently signed to Gorilla Sauce Entertainment and Banku Music record label.
Joeboy grew up in a music family, his older brother was in the choir and his dad played the keyboard in church.
According to him, he was inspired by the likes of 9ice and ID Cabasa whom he used to hang out with in studio. Joeboy started his singing career at the age of 16 years old and recorded his first song “Gbeseyin” an afrobeat tune at the age of 17 years old.
He later released Ed Sheeran “Shape of You” cover which was well received both in Nigeria and across the globe. The song also brought him to limelight which made Mr Eazi discovered him and decided to offer him a provisional mentorship. Joeboy is currently one of the most talented Nigerian music artists with amazing vocals and stylish musical performance and attitude.
He has released some couple of songs to his credit including “Baby” which is spreading like wide fire across Nigeria. He is currently signed into Mr Eazi’s Banku Music Record Label.
