Kamaru Usman’s biography
His full name is Kamarudeen Usman, and he was born on the 11th of May 1987 in Auchie, Edo state, to Mohammed Nasiru Usman and Afishetu P. Usman.
The records revealed that Kamaru Usman’s father was in the Nigerian army while his mother was a teacher. There were reports that his father supported his dream of becoming a boxer, but his mother would have preferred him to take another profession.
Kamaru Usman grew up with two brothers named Kashetu and Mohammed; while the former is a Doctor of Pharmacy, the latter is a mixed martial artist and boxer but fights in a different division from his brother.
Growing up in Benin City was tough on Kamaru Usman as he struggled with the living condition there; however, after his father, Muhammed Nasiru Usman, became a pharmacist in the United States, Kamaru relocated to Dallas, Texas, at the age of eight with the rest of the family.
