The biggest event this weekend in Nigeria was the coronation of the new monarch of Warri, a major town in Delta state.

It is no longer news that Prince Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko, also known as Tsola Emiko, was crowned as the 21st Olu of Warri on Saturday 21st of August 2021 in what has been described as a colour event with prominent figures from around the country and beyond.

The event showed the unique traditions and customs of the people of Warri for the world to see.

He was born on the 2nd of April 1984 to Ogiame Atuwatse II and Olori Gladys Durorike Emiko in Warri, Delta state. According to the reports, his father became the Olu of Warri three years after he was born.

The monarch had an active childhood and participated in sporting events like football, basketball and the likes.

Education

Tsola Emiko is educated as he went to the well known NNPC primary school in Warri, where he had his first school leaving certificate. He then proceeded to Adesoye college, located in Offa, Kwara State, for his secondary school education which was between 1995 to 2001.

Following the completion of his secondary school education, he gained admission into Case Western Reserve University Cleveland, Ohio, USA, in 2002, where he graduated with a degree in International Studies & Political Science while minoring in History & Economics in 2005.

After completing his first degree, he went on to bag a Master’s of Science in Management from the same university in 2007.

In 2008, he moved back to Nigeria and participated in the NYSC scheme, where he served in the Public Affairs Department of National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS)

Career

Tsola Emiko is a business magnate. He started his career as an officer at the Shell Night Closed Pension Fund Administrator (SNCFPA) between 2009 and 2010. He then moved to Sahara Energy as a Government Relations Officer in 2010 and was there till 2012.

Before becoming the new Olu of Warri, he’s the Chairman, Ocean Marine Security Ltd and Director, Gulf of Guinea Ltd and Vessellink Nig Ltd.

His business acumen is expected to come as an advantage to the people of Warri as he would be able to draw new business investment to Warri and Delta state as a whole.

Personal life

Tsola Emiko is married to Ivie Okunbo, who is the daughter of daughter of the late billionaire Capt. Idahosa Okunbo. They got married in 2014, and their union is blessed with children.

Net worth

The new monarch has made his money even before becoming the new Olu of Warri, as he is reportedly worth $5 million.

Some reports claimed that Tsola Emiko gifted himself two brand new customised cars, a Rolls-Royce and Bentley 2021 model, ahead of his coronation as the Olu of Warri Kingdom. If this is true, then it is proof that he has the money.

Coronation

His coronation on Saturday came after he ended his traditional 90 days isolation period with a long procession through some roads in his kingdom. The coronation started with a Boat Regatta at the Warri River, after which he was finally crowned the 21st Olu of Warri at Ode Itsekiri, Delta state.

Since his coronation, he has been receiving congratulate messages from well-meaning Nigerians.
