Travis Barker was born on November 14, 1975, to Randy Barker and Gloria Barker. He was born and raised up in Fontana, California. His father was a mechanic, and his mother babysat. He is the youngest child in his family and has two elder sisters.
Barker completed his schooling at Fontana High School. His mother was a great motivation in his life, and she told him to follow his dreams. She died the day before he started going to high school.

After completing high school, he worked as a trash man until he found a place in the punk group, The Aquabats, in 1994.
