Yvonne Nelson was born on the 12th of November 1985 to O. Nelson and Margaret Gaddy in Accra, Ghana.
The veteran actress is the last child of her parents and was raised alongside three siblings by a single mother as her father left when she was very young.

Yvonne Nelson finished from St. Martin De Porres located in Accra, before she proceeded to the Aggrey Memorial Senior High School.
For her tertiary education, Yvonne Nelson attended Zenith University College and Central University, where she bagged a degree in human resource management.
