Students of the University of Utah in Akwa Ibom State have cried out on Twitter over the state of insecurity in their school as cultists run rampage.
The students who made use of the hashtag #UniUyoIsNotSafe were pushed to the wall following the death of a female student who was allegedly murdered by suspected cultists in a female hostel.
A student of the school narrated how horrible life on campus has been as he called on Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel, to see to an end to the horrible trend.
He tweeted:
“July 19, Gov. @MrUdomEmmanuel said Akwa Ibom State is safe.
I don’t know who he is deceiving but the crime rate there is over 100%.
Robbers can now enter school hostels and do what they want and nothing is done.
“Nobody is tackling cultism, they think this thing is a joke. These guys are everywhere stabbing and killing students. Ganging and robbing an entire street, clashing with rivals and fighting openly on the roads and nothing is done.
“The cult clash at Oron road is still hot and fresh, the Governor doesn’t care and he opened his mouth to say Akwaibom is safe. Same he in 2017 said he will tackle insecurity from the grassroots and around schools. @MrUdomEmmanuel Akwaibom will never grow with insecurity
“The villages are war zones to these hoodlums. Local government Chairmen and village heads are even Kings to the cultists. This is so unbelievable to a fruitful state.
“@MrUdomEmmanuel, if you can’t protect the students and you sit watching cultist kills and rob students every week then you are a failure to humanity. Nobody cares about your industrialization, just give this state security or you ask for assistance.
