An artiste’s appearance is unquestionably an important aspect of his or her brand. Various musicians have changed their appearances for various reasons.
The following are three celebrities who have changed their appearances over the years and the reasons behind their changes.
1. Adekunle Gold
Omoba Adekunle Kosoko, often known as Adekunle Gold, is a prince of Lagos and a member of the famed Lagos Kosoko royal house. He is his parents’ only son, and he has three sisters, one of whom has passed away. He is the nephew of Nollywood legend Jide Kosoko.
Adekunle added Gold to his name following a church session inspired by an excerpt from the pastor’s sermon.
Adekunle Gold decided to reinvent himself around the year 2020.
The musician, who appears to have an alter ego titled AG Baby, has changed his genre.
He was formerly recognized for his highlife-style songs, but with AG Baby, he focuses on Afro-pop, as evidenced by his release “Afro Pop Vol 1.”
Adekunle Gold’s appearance changed as a result of this switch.
In an interview with Guardian.ng, he was asked about the change in his fashion and said:
“Life is brief. Why limit yourself to one item or one style? Although being creative is limitless, the basis of my fashion is ‘do I feel good in it?’ If I do, I’ll be wearing it.”
2. Angela Okorie
Angela Okorie is another Nigerian artist who has had to redefine herself. Her appearance changed due to her transition from actor to musician.
Angela Okorie appeared in numerous Nollywood films and established a name for herself in the industry till 2019 when she transitioned to being an entertainer.
Of course, this shift is reflected in her appearance, as she dresses more like an artist than an actress. Her new image is reminiscent of hip-hop artists since she has numerous tattoos, has changed her hairstyle, and poses for photographs.
3. Chidinma Ekile
Chidinma Ekile, a prominent Nigerian musician, had to change her appearance after declaring herself born-again and switching from secular to gospel songs.
Chidinma Ekile, previously known for composing R&B music, shifted to gospel tunes, and her entire lifestyle altered as a result. Her appearance, in particular, underwent some alterations.
