4 Celebrities who became parents by Surrogacy (Photos)

Surrogate parents

Let’s take a look at celebrities who became parents by Surrogacy…

Some people become parents through birth, some through adoption, and yet others through surrogacy. A kid is a blessing in whatever way, and it is a blessing that many people crave.

Surrogacy is defined as the process of a woman (a surrogate) carrying a child for another person via artificial insemination of eggs. It is still not generally discussed or widely practised in Nigeria. There is still a belief that a woman must bear her own child in order to be considered a mother, which must be abandoned because it helps no one.

Thankfully, more and more people are stepping forward to share their fertility tales and adventures, as well as why they chose to become parents through surrogacy. Our Nigerian celebs are one set of such persons who are contributing their voices to the debate and helping to change the subject in a new direction.

Here are 4 Nigerian celebrities who have been Surrogate parents:

1. Ini Edo

This is the most recent Nigerian celebrity to open up about her desire to conceive a kid via surrogacy. Ini Edo is one of Nigeria’s most well-known and famous actors, and for a long time, many womb watchers have kept an eye on her, always questioning her about when she would have children.

Finally, Ini Edo disclosed in an interview with blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus that she is now a mother and obtained her kid through surrogacy. Ini told Stella about it and said:

Yes, I have a daughter who was born through surrogacy. Because the eggs are mine, she is genetically my blood. I took this road in order to realize my dream of becoming a mother. I still have a large quantity of frozen eggs in case I decide to undergo surrogacy again or carry my baby myself. Nobody knows.

I am not someone who lets any circumstance control me. I make lemonades from lemons thrown at me and have no regrets. Life is too delicate and fleeting to strive for perfection. I am healthy and capable of caring for my own child, just as I have been caring for myself. I wanted a child and thank God for surrogacy and donor alternatives…

2. Tinubu-Ojo, Folasade

4. Nike Oshinowo

Nike Oshinowo, a former beauty queen, also had twins through surrogacy. Nike explained her decision-making process:

I had left my marriage and was lying in bed, praying to God.

“All right, so here I am; is this what you want for me?” Please inform me about the next stage. So, what should I do now? And then I fell asleep. As I slept, I felt a tug on the covers and opened my eyes to find nothing but a small child tugging at the bottom of my duvet. It was a tiny girl, so I carried her and placed her on my bed, where she entertained herself while I slept.

She would always come into my room and play, and then I would put her on my bed and we would play and sleep. ‘This little girl I keep seeing in my dreams, maybe I can have a child,’ I thought one day. Perhaps it’s God’s way of telling me it’s time. I take my iPad and start reading the web while laying in bed, convinced that I have Endometriosis.

I literally googled ‘what is the best way to have a child if you have severe Endometriosis?’ I typed it in and it appeared!

Surrogacy is a remarkable scientific breakthrough and a viable method of conception that should never be dismissed. It’s encouraging to see these celebs being upfront about their surrogacy experiences.
