This development comes after Yul Edochie had earlier voiced his disapproval of Rufai Oseni, a news anchor at Arise TV, for what he considered unprofessional behavior during a TV interview. Rufai Oseni had a heated exchange with APC chieftain Jesutega Onokpasa, and the video of their on-air confrontation quickly went viral, sparking a conversation on social media.
Yul Edochie took to his Instagram page to address the issue, expressing his concerns about Rufai Oseni’s conduct as a journalist. He criticized Oseni for making his interviewee uncomfortable due to his apparent political bias.
Yul Edochie stressed that journalists should remain impartial, regardless of their personal political affiliations, and not let their biases interfere with their professional duties. He even pointed out that Oseni had gone so far as to suggest that the guest leave if he felt uncomfortable during the interview.
Yul Edochie did not mince words in his criticism of Rufai Oseni, challenging Oseni’s behavior and asking who he thought he was to be so rude to his guests. This was not the first time that such a situation had arisen, according to Yul Edochie.

He advised Yul Edochie to choose his battles and suggested that Yul Edochie was not making much sense in his comments. One of Yul Edochie’s fans cautioned him to show respect for his senior colleague, to which Yul Edochie responded with a rather dismissive tone, questioning the fan’s understanding.

Back in July 2023, actress Rita Edoche called him out, along with his second wife, Judy Austin.
