Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has lashed out at The African Men Entertainment Kings (AFRIMEK), led by Femi Adebayo, for suspending him indefinitely.
In a post on the club’s Instagram page, it announced that the Yoruba actor has been suspended indefinitely and, has no right to portray himself as a member and has been excluded from the club’s activities. According to the club, this decision was brought by his gross misconduct and breach of the club’s constitution.
“ADENIYI JOHNSON Is hereby suspended indefinitely from the club( AFRIMEK).
He has no right to portray himself as a member and estopped from the club activities.
This decision is borne out of their gross misconduct and breach of the club’s constitution”.
Reacting to the news, Johnson expressed sadness that his honourable club made such a derogatory post about him. He stated that though he isn’t bigger than the club, however, there has been Adeniyi Johnson before the club and the post they made about him can cause harm.
He stated that such a post is detrimental to his name, his family and most importantly, his brand. He made it known that he didn’t want to address it at first, but the calls and messages he has been receiving are worrisome.
Johnson urged his family, friends and fans to stay calm and continue to show their unwavering love and support for him.
“It SADDENS MY HEART THAT MY HONOURABLE CLUB MADE SUCH A DEROGATIVE POST ABOUT ME!! PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT BIGGER THAN THE CLUB, BUT BEFORE THE CLUB THERE HAS BEEN ADENIYI JOHNSON IF CARE ISN’T TAKEN THAT POST WILL DO LOTS OF HARM THAN GOOD!

Last year, AFRIMEK suspended Shoneye Olamilekan otherwise known as Papa Showw for physically assaulting his colleague, Temidayo Morkinyo. The club, in a letter signed by the Mayor, Femi Adebayo, distanced itself from the actor, stating that his actions do not represent the identity for which their club stands for and has been known to present. His shameful act had left the association sanctioning him and placing him on immediate suspension.
The actor in an interview with Biola Bayo, had tendered a heartfelt apology to her and promised never to repeat such.
