“Comedic space is big enough for all” Ali Baba sends important message to comedians amidst AY and Basketmouth’s beef

Veteran Nigerian comedian Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, popularly known as Ali Baba has sent an important message online with his younger colleagues, upcoming and aspiring comedians about succeeding in the industry

Ali Baba who is the host of the yearly Spontaneity for aspiring comedians to showcase their talents and win prizes, revealed what he usually share with them during the competition.

The highly respected comedian shared a video of love and humility on his Instagram page, with a lengthy message on rising in the comedy industry.

He stated that the industry is big enough for anyone to excel without being an hindrance to another.

“Recently, someone asked me why I was organizing #alibabasspontaneity.
He said he had to ask because he had attended 6 editions of #alibabasspontaneity and he could see the kind of support that should take the financial burden off me.
From the beginning of #alibabasspontaneity, I had stated that the goal was to let upcoming comedians learn 5 things.

1. That spontaneity is the holy grail of Stand Up Comedy.
2. That there is money in the comedy industry.
3. That with the comedic talents they have, they can get themselves a car and many more things in life.
4. That being a comedian is no walk in the park.
5. And the most important reason, that the comedic space is big enough for all and there was no need to try and stop other people’s shine.
   I celebrate every colleague and help to promote all.
   As you can see, as shown by that 1st prize winner, the fact that the 2nd and 3rd postion joined her on the 1st position stand, did not reduce her 1st position to 5th.
   Sharing in the joys and happiness of others is a trained mindset. A mindset that is achieved by knowing that the success of all, is the success of you as well.

   Be generous in appreciation.
   Be accommodating in your blessings.
