The Western Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun, in Oyo State, has arrested some secondary school students for imitating singer Naira Marley.
Azeez Adeshina Fashola, known professionally as Naira Marley, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is known as the president of his controversial fan base, “Marlians”.
A video shared multiple times on social media shows the students – allegedly caught in a bush – kept in the back of an Amotekun van.
Some adults are also seen making video recordings of the students.
A student nicknamed Naira Marley is said to be in senior secondary school (SSS) 3.
A female voice is heard describing the boys as “criminals in the school.”
She is also heard telling one of the boys that “you were trained to become somebody good in life, but see what you have turned yourself to.”
The Oyo State Government has not made any official statement about the incident as at the time of filing this report.
