Veteran Nollywood actor and comedian, Bolaji Amusan popularly known as Mr Latin has said social media skits that are the latest rave, should be strictly for young comedians.
In an interview with Punch Newspaper’s Saturday Beats, Mr Latin says he is a mature comedian who believes the younger generation of comedians should be allowed to explore their talent. He said, “I have never thought of delving into Instagram skits because I am a mature comedian and I have been in the industry for many years. This is the time to give room to the younger comedians to explore their talent. I will advise upcoming comic actors to stay true to themselves and be original; they should not try to imitate anybody. One major improvement I want to see in the movie industry is for us to gear up to produce more cinematic movies so that our movies will be accepted internationally,”
The actor also spoke briefly on the challenges he had to face when his career first began, especially dealing with parents who would not accept his choice. He said, “I have had challenging moments because when I started my career, it was difficult for people to accept me. Even my parents were never in support of my choice of career but eventually after two years, they were proud of me when I started getting popular”.
