Nigerian comedian, actor, and producer, Ayo Makun better known by his stage name AY has lamented the state of things in the country.
In a post on his Instagram page, AY noted how he grew up hearing that Nigeria would be better, but unfortunately, the country is getting worse as he is now in his fifties and nothing is getting better.
He questioned what kind of Groundhog Day existence we live in in this country as he noted how the more things seem to change, they remain the same.
AY further questioned how many have wages that can cater to their daily needs
“Nigeria go better us what one grew up hearing. I’m still hearing it in my fifties. What kind of Groundhog Day existence do we live in in this country though? The more things seem to change, they remain the same.
How many of us do have wages more than sufficient enough to cover the bare cost of living in Nigeria?”.
Taking to his comment section, many concurred with them as they joined him to bemoan the country’s predicament.

A few weeks back, his wife, Mabel Makun, while bemoaning the current state of things in the country, lamented over the exchange rate, which she noted is killing businesses.
She further lamented how life’s basic needs are now luxury and everything is high and noted how an average common man can no longer afford a loaf of bread and how parents withdraw their kids from schools for home tutors.
Similarly, Singer, Paul Okoye also expressed his concerns about the current state of Nigeria’s economy, highlighting the significant impact of rising costs on everyday life, particularly in the context of soaring diesel prices.
Okoye revealed that his monthly expenditure on diesel now stands at a staggering 3 million Naira.
