Nigerian box office king and award-winning comedian Ayo Makun, otherwise known as AY, is depending on family as he navigates his split from wife of over 2 decades, Mabel Makun.
The actor, via his Instagram page, shared a video of him, his brothers Lanre and Yomi Casual and their wives, alongside a caption on the importance of family. He stated that in the time of test, family is always the best.
According to him, family members are the ones who have your back when you need support, especially when the haters or critics follow a non-existent narrative about one.
The father of two expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to have a good and objective family.
“In times of test, family is always the best.
Family members are the people who have your back when you need support, especially when the completely CLUELESS crusaders follow a non-existent narrative. Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to have a very good and objective family”.
Recall that in April, AY confirmed the end of his almost 20-year relationship with Mabel, expressing regrets for losing his home, and also admitted to doing things that were compromising during the marriage.
He, however, warned against projecting the wrong narrative about himself and his family, which he found harmful to his teenage daughter, and hinted at the possible fault from his wife.
Mabel also broke her silence, stating that her dreams of a lifelong marriage had now taken a different direction and pleaded with the media and public to give them privacy as they navigate their new phase. She noted how many lies have been peddled against her, but she will honour her kids by not addressing them.
Following the divorce, Ayo Makun had angered many when he took to his Instagram page to show off the only benefits from his crashed marriage, which was his daughter, Michelle.
Some weeks back, the comedian had splashed millions on a brand new car, a Range Rover from J Bautos Machines.
