Nigerian singer and star of the moment Ayra Starr has been left emotional after getting recognition from veteran actress Genevieve Nnaji.
It is no longer news that the Mavins singer released her Sophomore album, The Year I Turned 21, which featured many artists and got love from American singer Rihanna.
Taking to her Instagram story, Genevieve shared a video of her listening to a song from the album titled 21.
Ayra Starr, who couldn’t believe her eyes, reposted the video on her Instagram story with several teary-eyed and speechless emojis.
Genevieve didn’t stop there; she reposted it on her Instagram story and told Ayra that her album was good and she hadn’t skipped it.
Ayra Starr’s new album is undoubtedly doing magic as it has reconciled her boss, Don Jazzy and music star, Wizkid.
Wizkid joined the millions of Nigerians in reacting to the song, as he acknowledged the wonderful work done by the singer and identified her as a âsuperstar.â
This tweet earned a reaction from Don Jazzy, who thanked Wizkid and called him as Big Wiz.
Refreshing your memory, in May, Wizkid had gone on a mini-rant shading Mavins record label signee Ladipoe for coming at him. He also threw a jab at Don Jazzy, as he revealed that he was never chatting to anyone signed to an influencer, hinting at the fact that record label manager Don Jazzy was an influencer. This led the music executive to unfollow him on social media.
Since entering the music industry, Ayra Starr has undoubtedly made her mark as the next generation of Afrobeat. The Mavins singer scored a major milestone in her career with a BET Award nomination. She was nominated for the Best New Artist award category alongside a South African singer and other emerging artists.
The âCommasâ singer had also gotten a past nomination from the Grammys; although she didnât win, it remains a huge achievement.
