Daniel Regha, renowned for his unfiltered and often bold opinions, has once again directed his sharp critique toward the music industry, this time focusing on singer Blaqbonez’s new album, “Emeka Must Shine.” Despite the album making waves and climbing the charts, Regha didn’t hold back as he delivered a rather harsh rating, giving it a solid 3.5 out of 10.
In his assessment, Regha acknowledged that Blaqbonez had ventured into sonic experimentation, which he found commendable. However, his harshest criticism was aimed at the lyrical content, which he deemed to lack substance. He expressed disappointment in the album, stating that it failed to deliver anything refreshingly new and instead felt like a rehash of Blaqbonez’s previous projects.
Furthermore, Regha pointed out what he perceived as an issue of similarity in the beats, suggesting that Blaqbonez had sampled songs from popular musicians, leading to a sense of déjà vu throughout the album. He also took note of repeated choruses in some of the songs, which he deemed as an area where the album fell short.
In an attempt to soften the blow of his critique, Daniel Regha concluded his message with a “no offense”.
Shifting the spotlight to a previous controversy involving Daniel Regha, he had, a few weeks ago, expressed his views on the artist Davido’s perceived attitude toward his family’s influence in Osun State. According to Regha, Davido’s family’s political connections have led to him acting as if they “own” the state. He alleged that despite people’s attempts to reach out to Davido regarding issues in Osun State, the artist often seemed unresponsive, dismissive, and even mocking.
A few weeks ago, he had faced ridicule after sewing boxers out of old leftover materials. His followers and netizens in general had taken him to calling his poor.
