Bobrisky has never hidden his admiration for Davido, and in a recent post, he reimbursed that fact by crafting a message for Davido, following his three-time loss at the Grammys. In his message, Bobrisky wrote, ‘I’m super proud you David. I’m ur biggest fan I’m sure ur lawyer Prince tell you dis always. You are too big to fail naaaa. You don pass that level. You are a world star and nothing beat that. Grammy or no Grammy we love ur music and we won’t stop listening to it’.
Recall that Davido was nominated under three categories at the Grammys, which include; Best Global Music award for his song Feel, Best African Music Performance for his song Unavailable, and Best Global Music Album for his album Timeless. He lost all three nominations in one night at the Grammys Awards.
The Grammys 2024 was the first time Davido was invited and nominated, so it was quite a big deal for him and his fans alike. Davido’s loss at the Grammys would greatly affect his fans, and his Lawyer, who had earlier on posted a dummy of the Grammys awards, in anticipation of Davido’s win.
It was clear that Davido was very excited about the Grammy nomination, and the fact that those were his first ever nominations meant it was a big deal for him. His fans were really excited about his three nominations, and so was he. A milestone was achieved in Davido’s career, despite his loss at the Grammys 2024.
Davido was not the only Nigerian artist to lose an award at the Grammys, as Ayra Starr, and Asake lost theirs too. Burnaboy on the other hand also felt the brunt of it, as he lost four award categories at the Grammys this year. The realization is that no Nigerian artist won a Grammy award in the year 2024.
