Popular businesswoman and influencer Diiadem took to Instagram today to share the journey from the beginning of her journey as a brand owner, to eight years later.
In her caption, she explained in detail, how she got to where is today, and here is what she wrote;
“My brand’s growth @beautybyad has been nothing short of miraculous, surpassing my wildest dreams.
Balancing school at the time and the urge to start my own brand was tough. Fear of failure, rejection, and financial challenges were my constant companions, holding me back. I found myself procrastinating, lost in the world of social media likes and dislikes, yet I knew I needed to make a real move.
I had a vision for a quality MAKEUP brand, not just reselling random products from online marketplaces. But the financial barrier was daunting~-visas, travel, accommodations, all with no money in my pocket. Rejection and ridicule from those I asked for help nearly crushed my spirit. Yet, with a visa, a ticket, and just $1500 to my name, I took a leap of faith.
My budget was tight, but the reality at the manufacturing company hit me hard–it was seven times what I’d anticipated. I couldn’t come this far to return empty-handed. So, I reached out, borrowed funds, and even put my car on the line.
Thirteen nights in China, underprepared but driven by a deep-seated conviction, I pushed through. And here I am, eight years later, a testament to perseverance and faith.
I faced the obstacles head-on, fueled by prayer and determination, and it paid off. I’m not yet at the pinnacle, but I’m on my way. I know you’re reading this and you’re scared to start. This is me just telling you to actually START”
Diiadem’s brand is one of the most successful beauty brands in Nigeria, and from the story she shared, a lot of work was put into creating it.
