Nollywood actress Chioma Akpotha has been left overwhelmed following her nomination for Best Actress at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards 11th edition. The movie star was nominated for her role in Femi Adebayo’s movie Seven Doors.
Taking to her Instagram page, the talented actress expressed gratitude to God for the good gifts and how grateful and blessed she is for the nomination and recognition.
Chioma noted that every moment on screen is a story shared, and people’s support is her driving force. She further appreciated the public for their love, encouragement, and belief in her.

A week ago, while celebrating Chioma’s birthday, Femi Adebayo spoke sweetly about working with her. He described Chioma’s talent as pure magic, her humour as infectious, and her energy as unmatched. He stated that working with her perfectly combines brilliance, grace, and good vibes. He added that she brought so much warmth and charm to every role, and Seven Doors wouldn’t have been the same without her.
Seven Doors, which features the likes of Chioma Akpotha, Dele Odule, Wumi Toriola, Kolawole Ajeyemi, and many others, tells the story of a King – a delve into his lineage, his challenging reign as king, and his complex marital life with Amaka (portrayed by Chioma Chukwuka) and six additional wives.
Last year, Femi opened up on why he chose Chioma as the lead actress for his movie. He claimed it was a divine message as he noted how Chioma initially declined when he reached out to her, but he insisted.
Chioma, on her part, said the universe worked it out for them as she noted she wasn’t available for the role when he first reached out to her. The movie star said she later got hooked on the script and was connected to it, and God made it possible for her to be available for filming.
Ruth Kadiri, who had watched the movie, commended Femi for his efforts and urged the public to watch it.
Similarly, Wumi Toriola had praised the filmmaker. Wumi stated that she knew Femi was up to something big and crãzy, and as a student of literature, she saw literature being brought to visual. Calling his work of Art a masterpiece, she praised the cast and crew for doing their thing.
Toyin Abraham had also sung his praises, especially over his epic transformation of her husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi. Toyin hailed him for his skills in filmmaking and also praised her husband for being a good actor.
Since Femi’s release of his first movie, Jagun Jagun on Netflix, he has undoubtedly made a mark for himself in the world of Filmmaking. The movie shattered records on Netflix, as it went global on the streaming app with 2.1 million views, and was ranked 5th in Non-English Charts.
