Former dancehall singer Cynthia Morgan has knocked her colleague, Davido over his interference in Edo gubernatorial election.
Kemi Filani reported that Davido, in a series of tweets, had questioned the police directive for Edo citizens, telling them to return home immediately after casting their votes. He declared the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the most dangerous institution in Nigeria as he admonished Edo indigenes not to bow to them.
Explaining to those who queried him for interfering in the election, he revealed that his mother is from Edo and as such, he is interested in the election. He also knocked INEC, calling them a shame as he prayed for God to help the citizens.
Taking to her Instagram story, Cynthia noted how he claims his mother is from Edo State, yet she has never seen him visit his family house, nor has he mentioned the village or family she is from.
She stated that it has always been a propaganda thing for him as she begged him to leave Edo people alone. Cynthia made him know that he isn’t from Edo State, neither does he know the struggle of an average Edo man or woman.
“If you know me, you would know I am very apolitical, but this Davido is more annoying than I thought. Since you’ve been screaming your mum was from Edo State, I have never seen you visit her family house, and neither have you mentioned the village or family she is from. It has only been a propaganda thing for you
Please leave Edo people alone.

Cynthia has had an on-and-off relationship with Davido over the years. Some weeks back, Cynthia Morgan had opened up on her bittersweet encounter with him. In an Instagram live video, she stated that her issue with the singer started way back in 2011 when she first met him during the ‘Back When’ era. She claimed she reached out to him and he cut the phone on her.
Her second encounter with him was at a club with his cousins, B-Red and Sina Rambo and he had shoved her off when she went to meet him. Her last encounter with him was when her former manager, Jude Okoye told her to reach out to the singer for a collaboration unlike the previous encounters, Davido was excited to hear her voice and the two agreed to do a collaboration after which the singer invited her to her father’s birthday, which she didn’t show up for because of her last encounters with him.
Despite the rift between them, Cynthia had reached out to Davido following his Grammy loss, stating that though, she isn’t a fan of him, she feels he should have won an award. According to her, this would have allowed peace to reign in the country. However, she is wishing him better luck next time.
During his spat with Wizkid, Cynthia stated that she thought Davido was going to laugh at Wizkid’s tweet. She noted how when one doesn’t pop off when they should, things would get crãzy.
