Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has been arrested and is set to face criminal charges over his false allegations against his colleague, Davido.
Kemi Filani reported that days before Davido’s wedding, Dammy had called the singer a murderer, as he claimed that Davido was only getting married because Chioma caught him cheating.
His statement had gotten him into trouble as Davido’s lawyer, gave him 24 hours to retract all offensive publications against Davido on his social media handles. He was also asked to refrain from further publication of defamatory statements against Davido on any platform or risk facing legal actions.
Unbothered with the lawsuit, Dammy Krane further alleged that he was a witness to what Davido did to the late Tagbo, who was his friend.
Now, Kemi Filani has learnt that the singer will face criminal charges for defamatory statements and slanderous publications against the singer.
Recall that for years now, Davido and Dammy Krane have been at loggerheads after the latter accused him of owing him money. In response, Davido highlighted his support for Dammy Krane in the past, including providing him with accommodation when he needed it. However, Dammy Krane maintained that this support does not negate the financial debt owed to him.
This disagreement has escalated over time, with Dammy Krane repeatedly calling out Davido on social media, accusing him of being a habitual debtor. He had even claimed that the singer almost tried killing him as he recounted his harrowing near-fatal incident at a Lagos nightclub club late last year.
Late last year when businessman, Abu Salami called out Davido, Dammy Krane had resumed dragging him, appealing to the billionaire musician to pay him his debt for his daughter’s sake, whose school fees need to be paid.
Replying him, Davido recounted how he housed and fed him in Atlanta when he was homeless and how he recorded three verses in his song without collecting a dime. Dammy hit back, explaining why he was housed by Davido, and took shot at him over the series of deaths around him.
