Embattled singer, Oladapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’banj has broken his silence following his release from ICPC custody.
Taking to his Instagram page, the father of two revealed that he was invited on an ongoing investigation and has assisted the commission with necessary information.
D’banj made it known that he has no business with fraud and was release on self recognition because they had nothing on him.

D’banj release from ICPC custody
KFN reported hours ago that after almost 72 hours in custody, Dbanj, had been released by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Recall that the anti-graft agency detained D’banj on Tuesday over fraud allegations involving the N-Power programme.
Kemi Filani news learnt that the singer was released on Friday afternoon, December 9th. However, the singer can be summoned by the ICPC later.
His lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, told Premium Times that the singer cooperated with the Commission during its investigation.
Mr Olajengbesi noted that Dbanj was released on self-recognition but didn’t confirm if the ICPC granted the singer administrative bail.
He also said the ICPC didn’t trace any evidence of fraudulent activity to the singer.
Nothing incriminating was found on him. He was released on self-recognition. Right now, we expect the ICPC to give a letter of clearance to D’banj because, as we have always said, he is innocent of the charges brought against him,” he said.
A Source who spoke to Sahara Reporters said that “The musician is planning to speak out soon,”.
D’banj legal counsel speaks out
Recall that D’banj’s Legal counsel had defended him against Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
The commission had alleged that several invitations to the Oliver Twist crooner to appear before a team of investigators had been “ignored and not honoured.”
His Assistant Team Head, Litigation, Law Corridor, Maryam Musa, in a statement on Wednesday, said, as a matter of policy, D’banj and his management do not engage in business dealings “unless they are legitimate, properly documented and obtainable in law.”
The lawyer however acknowledged the ongoing ICPC investigation of alleged diversion of N-Power funds.
Musa added that though Dbanj was officially invited by the ICPC in respect of the investigation a month ago, he sent in letters through his attorneys to the commission in respect of his schedule in South Africa and promised to visit the Commission when he returned.
