Do2dtun sends message to Nigerian artists

Media personality, Do2dtun has lambasted Nigerian artists who charge in dollars.

Taking to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter now known as X, Do2dtun sent a message to artists, opining that the Afrobeat they built together could end up being destroyed with their own hands.

He noted how many artists now charge in dollars, and forget to unlock the togetherness that their genre of music gives them and their people.

“This Afrobeat we all built together, na Una go use Una hands spoil am. You now charge your own people in dollars. Forget to unlock the togetherness the genre gives you and your people. Quite strange and bizarre”.

A Netizen tackled him for his tweet, reminding him that the dollar is on the rise.

“Dollar don rise”.

Replying him, Do2dtun questioned if Nigerian artists can’t charge in Naira, which is their currency.

He added that it is a slave mentality to charge in dollars in one’s country, as he went on to question why artists don’t charge Naira in other countries.

“You no fit charge for Naira? It’s a slave mentality charging in your country in dollars. Why are you not charging Naira in the UK or America”.

He questioned if artists would reduce their prices with the rate at which concerts are declining, will artists also reduce.
