General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian of Church (RCCG) has been awarded with an honorary ‘Doctor of Divinity’ degree from Oral Roberts University, Oklahoma, for his distinguish service in spiritual leadership.
Sharing a clip from the ceremony on his Instagram page moment ago, Pastor E.A Adeboye captioned it “I recall that day in 1979 when I accompanied my father: Pa Josiah Akindayomi to Tulsa Oklahoma to attend kenneth Haggins camp meeting and how the power of God moved mightily.
If anyone had told me then that I would be awarded an Honorary degree From one of the most prestigious Universities there: Oral Roberts University, I would have said the person was joking. But looking back and seeing what God as done so far, I cant but just say thank you Jesus.
My sincere appreciation to the Leadership of the University, God bless you”
The entire RCCG family and gospel ministers such as Tope Alabi, Nathaniel Bassey and the likes, have been thrown into a jubilation state following the good news, with hailing Pastor EA Adeboye and congratulating him on the fete.
Kemi Filani recalls that a few weeks ago, Pastor Adeboye clocked 80 and top photographer TY Bello released some amazing portraits of him.
Releasing the photos on Instagram, TY Bello wrote “If we were all told to close our eyes and imagine what Jesus would look like as an 80 year old Nigerian, I bet that most people would immediately think of Daddy GO; especially if you’ve come in close contact with him. I’ve had the opportunity of photographing him over the years and I’ve been opportuned to know that he is not only one of the most important religious figures of our time but someone with the heart of the Father Himself.
He’s done it just as the master did .. bringing spiritual truths and realities to untold numbers using the simplest everyday analogies with humor , intelligence and a wisdom that can only be Divine . His simplicity draws you to want more of God .
He’s the perfect example that we all can be like Jesus, and indeed we should be.
