Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown’ housemate, Dorathy Bachor has obtained a Canada visa and can’t keep calm.
The reality star cum entrepreneur, in a series of posts on her Instagram story, recounted her struggles obtaining a visa in 2019/2020.
According to her, she quit her job in 2019 out of frustration after being demoted for the most ridiculous reason.
She described the incident as the most difficult time in her life because she was so confused about what she wanted to do with her life.
Dorathy made a decision to apply to school in Canada and she didn’t know where the money was going to come from, but she bought the IELTS form and was preparing for the exam.
A friend of her sister, who had gotten a passport from the Canadian embassy became her source of inspiration as she used her testimony as a point of contact for herself.
She was slated to write her exams in 2029 but Big Brother Naija happened and she quit her dreams to become a reality star.
“Back in 2019, I had just quit my job out of frustration of being demoted to the front desk because of the most ridiculous reason. It was one of the most difficult times in my life because I was so confused about what I wanted to do with my life.
Made a decision to apply to school in Canada and I honestly didn’t know where the money was going to come from but I bought the IELTS form and was preparing for the exam.
On this random day, a friend of my sister visited us. He had just gotten his passport back from the Canadian embassy, so he came to we could celebrate. I took a little piece of the nylon his passport came in and hung it by my window”.
“Wasn’t sure how it was going to happen but I woke up every day and drew strength from that piece of nylon. My sister would laugh at me and ask me why I’d be talking to a piece of nylon. I didn’t care, I just kept hanging in there.
2020 came and I was going to write my exam but Big Brother happened”.
“Fast forward to 2023 and I’m just here looking at it and smiling. Life is funny.
Sharing this because it meant a lot to me at some point in my life and I’m grateful to God.
God’s plan for your life is always greater”.
Dorathy Bachor recounts last year’s BBN edition finals
Recall that Dorathy had recounted her experience while awaiting the final result of 2021’s winner.
According to the Reality Tv star, it makes it a year since she was announced as the first runner-up of the show, and realized during that moment of truth she could not figure out what the outside world thought of her.
Sharing a post, she said her BBNaija’s year was the cr@ziest year she had ever encountered as she had to battle with fear, anxiety and so many emotions, this is because fame comes with a lot. However, she fought through the battles that come along with fame and publicity.
Dorathy ended the note by thanking her family and friends for supporting her despite all difficulties in the course of achieving fame. Also the biggest platform in Africa for bringing her to the limelight.
