Nollywood actress Doris Simeon has finally opened up on her messy custody battle with her ex-husband, Daniel Ademinokan.
In an interview with her colleague, Biola Bayo, for her show Talk to B, she revealed that she was frustrated and depressed, but she never showed that side of her because she knew the family she came from. According to her, her parents taught her to be strong no matter the challenge.
Doris revealed that her son was 4 years old when Daniel took him to the US, and the last time she played a motherly role to her son was when he was 3 years old. She claimed that when she called him, he wouldn’t pick and when he finally picks he would claim he was busy and she would be unable to reach him anymore.
“I might have had my fault, he also had his fault. That’s why I said I didn’t feel anything when they got married, but the only thing is that he didn’t allow me to mother my child. That’s the only painful part.
He took my son without my consent, he was just 4 years old when he came to the US. He was 3 when I mothered my child last. I was calling, but he wouldn’t pick up, and when he picked up, he would tell me he would call me back as he was busy, and for another 3 to 4 months, I wouldn’t get through.
I was frustrated and depressed, but I can never show that because I knew the family I came from as my parents told us to be strong, no matter what you’re going through in life. I just went for a movie premiere and someone told me I am not here to see my son. That was how they took us to court”.
Refreshing your memory, Daniel Ademinokan was married to Doris Simeon, but they got separated in 2010 and divorced soon after. Daniel had taken custody of their son, who he took with him to the United States to live with his second wife, Stella.
In 2018, Doris was allowed to reunite with her son when she celebrated her birthday.
Recall that Daniel Ademinokan moved on from Doris and got married to her colleague, Stella Damasus, but the marriage fell apart in 2020 over irreconcilable differences. Ademinokan was said to have left their marriage and relocated to another state in the United States of America, where the couple lived.
A few months after their separation, Daniel, threw shade at Stella, stating that people should not be quick to listen to motivational speakers because the motivator might be the one who needs it more. Stella, on her part, stated that she thought the man she married was her soulmate, who had a similar mindset and could do everything with her, but alas, she was served breakfast. Stella advised ladies to pay attention to red flags and avoid rushing into marriage.
Daniel has also moved from Stella to Tope Oshin, a movie director who he wedded in July 2023. The couple have since welcomed their first child, whose gender remains unknown.
