The one-sided rappers beef between Dremo and Sarkodie has just gotten hotter, as the Nigerian rapper recently dropped another diss song.
In this second diss track, you can hear Dremo quizzing Sarkodie on when he would respond to the first one.
Dremo infused an impressive play of words, switching the word ‘gonna’ for Ghana, and he also switched the phrase ‘see this’ for ‘cedis’.
Also, Dremo made mention of the fact that Sarkodie used Nigerian artists to gain traction in his song, and that seemed to what made him compose the diss song in the first place.
At one point in his song, Dremo mentioned that he wasn’t beefing Sarkodie, and that it was just ‘cruise’, even though he threw jabs at him.
This whole issue started when Sarkodie released a song, insinuating that Nigerian artists weren’t his competitors. He went on to say that Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole were his only competition.
Sarkodie’s song must have deeply infuriated Dremo because he responded swiftly, using Sarkodie’s beats to beef him. He even trolled him over his saga with Yvonne Nelson, where she called him out in her book.
Celebrity beefs are quite common among artists, even internationally. A few years ago, Ghanaian singer Shatta Wale complain bitterly over the fact that Nigerian songs were being played in Ghana, in major establishments like clubs.
Over the years, Ghana and Nigeria have been engaged in a back and forth beef that has mostly been friendly. One of the most common issues that Nigeria and Ghana has is over jollof rice, whereby each country claims to have the best.
There’s also the issue of steady electricity, where Ghanaians have trolled Nigerians incessantly over their unstable power supply.
Also, during the AFCON games, Nigerians trolled Ghanaians over the early loss during the games. Ghanaians returned the same energy when Nigeria lost during the finals.
