The family of late Nollywood actress Nkechi Nweje has released her funeral arrangements.
Kemi Filani reported last month that Nollywood lost a veteran, Nkechi Nweje. According to reports, the movie star died after a brief illness.
According to the flyer posted by her colleague, Rita Edochie, Nkechi will be laid to rest on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, in Onitsha, Anambra State.
Rita, in her caption, expressed how heartbroken she is over her death and how she will stop seeing the late veteran.

Also, mourning Nweje, Ngozi Ezeonu revealed that she never knew Nkechi was sick. She expressed sadness at never seeing her smiling face again as she noted how Nweje was one of the nicest people she even met. Calling her death a big blow, she bade her farewell.
Nkechi has added to the list of celebrities’ deaths this year.
In the middle of the week, it was announced that plus-sized model Monalisa Stephen is dead. The Chief Executive Officer of Best of Nollywood (BON), Seun Oloketuyi, made the sad news known on his Instagram page. He revealed that she died on Tuesday, May 13th, in Lagos after battling with low blood sugar and internal bleeding. He said her immediate younger sister confirmed the news of her death to him.
A month before Nkechi’s death, Nollywood lost a veteran and an academia, Columbus Irisoanga. His colleague, Hilda Dokubo, posted the sad news on her Instagram page, expressing how heartbroken and heavy her heart was over the bad news.
