Some lovers and fans of Yoruba movies have threatened to boycott their movies after the leadership of the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria vowed to frustrate Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing in the industry.
Kemifilani News earlier reported that the leadership of TAMPAN, over the weekend, barred directors in the association from working with Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing for publicly condemning the conduct of their colleague, Baba Ijesha, alleged of defiling the foster daughter of Nigerian comedienne, Princess.
Speaking at a press briefing on Sunday, June 27, veteran actor Jide Kosoko said that even though Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing are not registered members of TAMPAN, the association would not entertain any form of disrespect or watch them drag the association in the mud.
Kosoko said the association is aware of the derogatory statements made by Iyabo Ojo against the Association and the industry as a whole, noting that they will not take further insults.
Reacting, some fans expressed their displeasure over the decision stating it is a shameful act from the elders of the association, especially after they failed to discipline Baba Ijesha and Yomi Fabiyi.
Many people also faulted veteran actor Jide Kosoko for failing to address the sexual molestation case involving Baba Ijesha but was quick to discipline Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing.
