Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has quit Nollywood.
The ailing actress who was been embroiled in several scandals over the years announced the sad news on her Instagram page.
Through her manager, the actress revealed that she wouldn’t be starring in any movies.
In a statement by her team, Halima’s wish was stoo acting.
Expressing gratitude to all her fans, she appreciated them for the love and prayers.
“Halima Abubakar quit acting we are so grateful for all the prayers. God bless you all but as from today, she will no longer act. It is her wish. We love you all. Thank you for the support. She is so downcast. She really did love acting. Thank you”.
This year 2022, has seen many Nollywood stars quiting the movie industry.
Tonto Dikeh quits Nollywood
Tonto Dikeh, who shocked many when she announced her political ambition had put her career on hold to pursue politics.
The controversial actress had joined the leagues of celebrities contesting for political seats.
Tonto took many by surprise as she announced her political ambition.
The actress revealed that she was picked as the running mate for Governorship Candidate Tonte Ibraye of the African Democratic Congress, Rivers State.
In an interview with BBC News Pidgin, Tonto said she would not return to acting if her party lost the governorship election in Rivers State.
Giving reasons, Tonto Dikeh said she doesn’t like movies like that, and it had been a long time since he acted on screen.
“I’ve acted in about two films in 10 years, I appreciate that my path started from Nollywood, it is something that I respect, but it’s not something that has been in my life.
Funke Akindele temporary holds her movie career
Also, Funke Akindele Bello had confirmed the reports which made waves about her political career.
The mother of two shared a video on her verified social media page to confirm that she had been chosen as a running mate to PDP’s Lagos State gubernatorial candidate, Dr Olajide Adediran, popularly called Jandor.
Funke Akindele, known to shun any reports about her personal life and career, formally declared her decision to accept Jandor’s call as the state’s deputy governor.
Funke Akindele also disclosed that she was ready to pay the price of embracing politics which will temporarily hold her career in the Nollywood industry.
