During his sermon with the theme ‘A Happy Home’ on Sunday, August 15th, MFM GO, Pastor DK Olukoya preached on Marriages that need deliverance. He shed some light on the types of marriages that need deliverance and what to do.
He started thus with the caption, “When your marriage needs deliverance.
In Mattew chapter 19: 1-6, we see a discussion going on with our Lord Jesus Christ. The family is the foundation of civilization. the family is a church within a church. The family is a world within a world. It is the building block of society. The family is the root and foundation of church and state. The family is like a book, the children are the pages. The parents are the cover, the concept of marriage did not originate from man, it came from God. The family is the school of human virtues, if things go right there, things go right everywhere. If things go wrong in a family, things go wrong everywhere and that is why we keep saying there are no delinquent children, there are only delinquent parents.
There is this power called the power of marriage destruction, there are specific powers deliberated to pull down marriages. unfortunately many are not attaching serious importance to the issue of marriage. Some rush into any kind of marriage just to bear any name that they are married. And therefore if you go to the cemetery and you count the graves of the women that are there, what killed 90% of them was the type of marriage they went into. Others don’t really care, the type of marriage they get involve in. but the truth is this, your life never remain the same after marriage. While the wedding day is for one day, the marriage is for life, many people will help you do the wedding, but eventually, marriage is between 2 people.
That is why we keep telling people here that the next thing after hell fire is a bad marriage. A bad marriage is an institution of God and marriage can make or mar your life in no certain measure. A good and godly marriage is the bedrock of right living. many things have been said to us in the cause of this every 3rd Sunday teachings. I can summarize, what I believe we have heard so far, we know that the wife must be submissive to the husband, the wife must love the husband, the wife, She must respect the husband, the wife must subject to the husband, the wife must honour the husband.
The wife must be faithful to the husband, The wife must be loyal to the husband, The wife must keep the secret of the husband. The wife must never deny her husband sex, The wife must be the best friend of her husband. The wife must support the husband, She must be obedient to the husband, that in a summary,
Now the man, The man must love the wife, The man must be the head of the house and not her headache, for many husbands, they are not head, they are headache, The man must honour the wife, He must provide for the wife, He must defend the wife, He must nourish the wife, He must cherish the wife, must appreciate her, commend her and praise her.
The man must accept her person, you were not drunk when you said you want to marry her, now that you have married her, you have no right to start complaining now, The man must provide for her future by making her the next of kind in any form you fill, praise her in the presence of her children. You must be proud of her, you must discuss with her intimately and be trustworthy. You must be a good example, that in a nutshell.
That is what this 3rd Sunday teachings have been teaching here. A lot of marriages need deliverance. Deliverance for marriage is 7 folds.
There is Deliverance by salvation, if madam is not born again or husband is not born again, there is no point that they will not fight, they will fight. It is like asking a corpse not to smell.
- Deliverance by prayer. 3. Deliverance by the word of God, 4. Deliverance by counselling, 5. Deliverance by Godly Advices, 6. Deliverance by knowledge because ignorance can destroy, 7. Deliverance by character readjustment.
Our character cuts across every facet of our life. your character is what you are when no one is watching you. Your character involves your ability to rule your desires, your lusts and those needs that are before you. A lot of marriages have been caged by the enemy because of the lack of all these 7 folds deliverance. what are the types of marriages that need deliverance?
A marriage where communication has broken down, where the inlaws have taken over, marriages retained by money, neglected marriages, no time for each other and so the marriage is far crumbling, marriages of actors and actresses, both partners are pretending as if things are alright but in private they are fighting, they are cursing and quarrelling but things are really wrong. Marriages that never grows, In the initial stage of marriage, we find some couple quarrelling, sometimes even fighting, but as the marriages grow, they outgrow that stage of shouting, beating and shouting,. Marriages that the third party has caged, when the home is controlled by mother in law and all kinds of people.
There is shallow marriage, no true love, just marry for beauty, handsomeness, shape, for the size and the gymnastic of bum bum, forgetting that the bumbum is a waste disposal gadget and when what you got married for now begins to lose shape then problem begins, abusive husbands, stubborn wives, marriages that need deliverance, both couple are into adultery, troubled marriages, sickness, satanic attack, children problems, beating and biting each other, polygamous marriages, where husbands sleep with inlaws, marriages from accidental pregnancies, marriages where when you marry, you inherit things that do not belong to you. Such marriages need deliverance, many marriages need deliverance prayers they need counselling and Godly advice.
