Nigerian rapper, Ikechukwu Onunaku better known by his stage name Ikechukwu has confirmed his separation from his wife of 3 years, Ella.
The rapper, who got married in 2021, in an interview with Daddy Freeze disclosed that he and his wife have parted ways over irreconcilable differences.
He explained that all his efforts to save the marriage were futile as there was lots of gaslighting and looking for fault between them. He also revealed that interference from third parties also contributed to their marital woes.
Ikechukwu admitted that when he couldn’t take it anymore with his wife’s shenanigans, he showed her his other side and the two couldn’t bear it. He added that he brought in his inner personality party to try to save his marriage but that only worsened things as his wife took him for granted and thought he was not enough.
“My wife and I are no longer together. We separated due to irreconcilable differences. It wasn’t over infidelity. There was too much gaslighting, too much looking for faults, and too much listening to outsiders.
“I am the number one guy that would tell you instead of cheating on a relationship, scatter the relationship and go your single way and have what you want.
There was too much gaslighting, too much looking for fault, too much listening to random people wey no know you dey tell you nonsense, and just a very messed up complex.

“I tried, I gave it every single thing that I could. The woman tried to emasculate me, she always made me feel like I was not enough.”
Recall that Ikechukwu popped the ‘Will You Marry Question’ to his now estranged wife in 2020. The rapper made the news known on his Instagram page as he shared a video of the beautiful ring on his girl’s fingers, while also penning a cute note to her.
The couple finally tied the knot at a talk of the town traditional wedding in May 2021. The likes of Don Jazzy, Waje, Chigurl, and many others stormed the event to rejoice with the couple.
A day back, Ikechukwu opened up on his time in the now defunct, MoHits record label, alleging that D’banj, who was part of the owners of the label, was always cheating him. He claimed that D’banj only gave him N50k out of the N1 or 2 million he was always paid for shows.
However, things later changed when his fee was reviewed and he was upgraded to earning N150000 per show. A decision which was made by D’banj’s mother, who he claimed was in control of the label.
He further alleged that the singer’s mother ran MoHits record and the singer would always seek her consent before any decision was made.
