Nigerian singer and record label boss Don Jazzy took to Instagram to remind Nigerians who the boss is when it comes to music production.
In the first slide of his post, Don Jazzy wrote; “It’s like you guys have forgotten I’m a master producer o. Let me remind you a bit”
Following his write up which served as a reminder to Nigerians of his music production skills were songs he had produced in the past.
The first song he shared was ‘Why me’ by D’Banj, who coincidentally was a member of Mo’Hits records, which is now called MAVIN records, before their fall out and then reconciliation some years back.
At number two was another of D’Banj’s songs called ‘Oliver Twist’, which was a hit when it was released, and it was successful mostly due to the fact that Kanye West made a cameo in the video, which led to a lot of conspiracy theories.
Song number three was the ‘The Kick’ by Wande Coal, who also happened to be a former member of the Mo’Hits records, now called MAVIN records. Wande Coal has now gone on to be one of the most successful singers of his time.
This fourth song is quite nostalgic, as it was quite a hit during the mid-2000’s. The song in question is ‘Whine am well’ by Ikechuckwu, and it was one of the best at the time it was released, serving as a club banger.
Song number five is ‘Godwin’ by Korede Bello, who is currently a member of MAVIN records. This song blew up so well that a church in Nigeria invited Korede Bello to perform at one of its functions, which brought about a lot of online debate.
Lastly, we have quite a shocker, and the song in question is ‘Lift off’ by Jay Z, Kanye West and Beyoncé. This song proves just how much Don Jazzy’s influence spread in the music industry.
