Jasmine Okafor, the adopted daughter of John Okafor better known as Mr Ibu, has opened up about her crashed marriage.
The socialite, in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, revealed that her marriage fell apart over her husband’s numerous lies. She claimed that her husband had lied to her that he was 38 years old, meanwhile, he was 51 years old.
She further revealed that during their courtship, her husband told her that he had never married nor had he gotten any lady pregnant, but all these were lies.
Jasmine said she found out about his real age on their wedding day.
“Mr Ibu’s daughter, Jasmine has revealed that her husband told her he was 38 yrs old but she found out he was 51 yrs old on their wedding day.
“This guy told me he has never married in his life, or gotten a lady pregnant, in fact, he told me he was 38 years old. The day I found out that my husband was 51 years, old was on our wedding day”.
Kemi Filani reported that Jasmine had gotten engaged to her lover in February 2022. The lovebirds got married within days in a low-key wedding.
Narrating her love story, Jasmine revealed how their paths crossed two months before their engagement on the app.
She disclosed how he flew from the US to Gambia to propose to her. According to her, four days after their physical meeting, he proposed to her, and the couple got married 24 days later.
Jasmine used her story to emphasize how a real man wouldn’t waste a lady’s time.
Unfortunately, the marriage didn’t last a year as Jasmine announced divorce from him after 9 months of marriage.
The content creator made this known on her Instagram page, where she revealed that her husband had lied to her about his previous marriage and his kids.
Though admitting that their marriage was blissful, she however stated that his lie broke their union, as she recounted how she probed him on his personal life before they tied the knot.
